The elongated 0.39" thread is useful when the fitting must pass through a thicker wall. Its shielding design also addresses installations where EMI/RFI protection is required. A self-locking ACME dome thread keeps the overlapping splines engaged around the cable. This creates a concentric seal and helps prevent the form seal from being pulled out.
