HTP J12R8B5-PLC-KIT M12 Distribution Block Kit with Embedded PLC
Complete industrial automation controller kit with 12 PNP digital inputs, 8 outputs, an IP67 M12 distribution block, Modbus communication, a 5-meter M12-to-USB programming cable, and a 5-meter M12 power cable.
Decentralized M12 I/O Control in One Ready-to-Program Kit
The HTP J12R8B5-PLC-KIT combines an M12 distribution block with a built-in programmable logic controller, an M12-to-USB programming cable, and an M12 S-coded power cable. The block provides 12 PNP digital inputs across four 5-pin A-coded female ports and eight outputs across four 4-pin A-coded female ports. Four of the output channels are digital, while four support pulse-width modulation (PWM), giving machine builders flexible control of connected field devices.
Designed for distributed industrial automation, the controller places local I/O and processing close to sensors and actuators while reducing the amount of point-to-point wiring routed back to a central control cabinet. The embedded CPU supports approximately 10,000 scans per second with a scan time of less than 0.2 ms. Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and HTTP over TCP/IP support integration with serial and Ethernet-based control systems, while the graphical TaskScript Studio environment streamlines modeling, simulation, code generation, deployment, testing, and diagnostics.

- Protected Field Hardware: The distribution block carries an IP67 protection rating and operates from -40°C to 90°C (-40°F to 194°F)
- Electrical Protection: The power connection includes overvoltage protection, while the input and output connections are optoisolated
- Clear Status Indication: Red LEDs identify input and output status, while green LEDs indicate power and programming status
- High-Capacity Power Distribution: Supports a maximum total power supply of 12 A with up to 3 A per port
⚠️ Verify M12 Coding and Port Function Before Connecting
This kit uses different M12 connector configurations for power, programming, inputs, and outputs. The power port is a
4-pin S-coded male connection, the programming port is a 12-pin A-coded female connection, the input ports are 5-pin A-coded female, and the output ports are 4-pin A-coded female. Match the pin count, coding, gender, voltage, and current requirements before connecting cables or field devices.
💻 TaskScript Studio Programming Environment
TaskScript Studio is a Windows application that supports the full controller design cycle. Its graphical, model-based interface can be used to create Control Flow sequences, define Data Flow transformations, validate the design, generate an uploadable application file, and simulate operation in real time. Structural and Temporal simulation views help programmers evaluate the controller together with its operating environment before testing the program on the physical M12 distribution block.
Supported Windows Versions: Windows XP through Windows 10

🧩 TaskScript Studio Development Workflow
1. Model the Application: Build a graphical flow chart based on GRAFCET and IEC 61131-3 concepts, using steps and connections between inputs and outputs.
2. Validate & Generate Code: Check the design for potential mistakes and generate the application file for the M12 distribution block.
3. Simulate the Design: Run a real-time, step-by-step simulation using Structural and Temporal views to examine controller behavior and the modeled operating environment.
4. Upload Through USB: Transfer the embedded application to the controller with the included M12-to-USB programming cable.
5. Test the Physical System: Confirm that the uploaded program operates correctly with the connected machine or automation equipment.
6. Diagnose Operation: Evaluate the physical environment and controller to identify operating issues during commissioning or troubleshooting.
