Lumberg Automation 935001001 0960 IOL 385-001 Lion-P 8-Port IO-Link Hub
8-port, 5-pin M12 IO-Link Hub with 10 digital inputs, 6 digital outputs, Class B IO-Link connection, LED status indication, reverse polarity protection, and IP65/IP67/IP69K field protection.
Compact IO-Link Hub for High-Density Digital I/O
The Lumberg Automation 935001001 0960 IOL 385-001 Lion-P is an 8-port IO-Link Hub used to collect and distribute digital I/O through an IO-Link Master. It provides 10 digital input channels and 6 digital output channels in a compact field-mounted module, helping reduce wiring runs when several sensors and actuators are located close together on a machine.
The hub connects through a 5-pin A-coded M12 IO-Link Class B connection and uses 5-pin A-coded M12 I/O ports for field devices. It can send signals up to 20 m away from the IO-Link Master and process up to 132 I/O signals as part of a hub/master system. The potted nickel-plated die-cast zinc housing is rated IP65, IP67, and IP69K for demanding machine-building and packaging applications.
🔢 10 DI / 6 DO
Combines 10 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs in one compact field module.
🔗 IO-Link Class B
Connects to an IO-Link Master through a 5-pin A-coded Class B M12 connection.
📏 Up to 20 m Run
Can send signals up to 20 m away from the IO-Link Master.
🛡️ IP69K Rated
Potted zinc housing supports rugged machine-mounted installation.
Key Features & Benefits
- 8-port IO-Link Hub: Groups multiple digital sensor and actuator signals through a single IO-Link connection to the master.
- 10 digital input channels: Handles PNP sensor inputs with Type 3 channel behavior according to IEC 61131-2.
- 6 digital output channels: Provides P-switching digital outputs for connected actuators.
- High signal density: Processes up to 132 I/O signals as part of an IO-Link Hub/Master system.
- Reduced addressing work: Uses one bus address through the IO-Link Master to gather multiple field signals.
- 20 m distance capability: Allows the hub to be mounted near field devices while the IO-Link Master stays elsewhere in the machine layout.
- Protection circuitry: Reverse polarity, overload, and short-circuit protection support reliable field operation.
- Rugged enclosure: Potted nickel-plated die-cast zinc housing is rated IP65, IP67, and IP69K.
- Configurable input filtering: Input filter time is configurable from 0 to 3 ms for signal behavior tuning.
- Application fit: Useful when upgrading from passive wiring to active I/O in machine building, packaging, and compact equipment layouts.
⚠️ IO-Link Hub Compatibility Notes
This product is an IO-Link Hub and must be used with a compatible IO-Link Master. It is not a standalone Ethernet/IP or Profinet device and does not replace an IO-Link Master. Confirm Class B connection requirements, output current limitations, and the 2L+ limitation of the connected master before sizing actuators.
🔎 IO-Link Hub Data & Channel Details
The IO-Link connection uses specification V1.1.2, Class B, COM 3 at 230.4 kbps, and a minimum 1 ms cycle/update rate. Parameter storage is supported. Process data length is 4 bytes input data and 4 bytes output data, with configuration through IODD and process data.

📋 Commissioning Overview
1.
Mount near field devices: Place the hub close to sensors and actuators to reduce separate cable runs.
2. Connect to IO-Link Master: Use a compatible 5-pin A-coded M12 connection and confirm Class B support on the master.
3. Wire inputs and outputs: Connect PNP digital inputs and P-switching outputs to the correct M12 ports.
4. Load IODD/configuration: Configure the hub through IODD and process data in the IO-Link Master or controller software.
5. Test channel behavior: Verify LED status, input filter settings, output restart behavior, and overload/short-circuit protection before operation.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the equipment wiring diagram and applicable electrical safety requirements.
