The longer thread helps the gland pass through a thick mounting wall. Its rugged brass body and concentric clamping design secure cable or wire while preserving the liquid-tight entry. A self-locking ACME dome thread keeps the overlapping splines engaged. This creates concentric sealing pressure and helps prevent the form seal from pulling out of the fitting.
