Description

The Macromatic PMPU-FA8 is a three phase monitor relay. This 8 Pin plug-in relay has a line-line voltage of 190-500V. Voltage can be set between 190-250 for low voltage applications or 380-500 for high voltage use. High or low voltage range is chosen automatically by the relay. It monitors against 5 different types of phase errors and has an output of 10A SPDT. The LED indicator is green under normal operation and red if an error is found. The diagram on top of the relay depicts how the LED will indicate the current status or fault. The PMPU-FA8 uses an 8 Pin 70169-D octal socket.

Monitors For:

  • Phase Loss
  • Phase Reversal
  • Phase Unbalance
  • Undervoltage
  • Overvoltage

As with the other phase monitor relays, PMPU-FA8 features "True RMS voltage measurement". This indicates analog to digital sensing circuitry that gives more accurate monitoring of phases and voltages. A great benefit to the PMPU-FA8 is the capability of monitoring all the voltages while indicating the fault, even if a phase is lost. A socket that is rated for 600V should always be used if the system voltage is above 300V. The wide voltage range makes it useful in a larger number of applications. The PMPU-FA8 has a default automatic reset, however manual reset can be implemented by connecting an external N.C. momentary switch to pins 6 & 7. When the voltage is implemented and the phase sequence is right, the relay becomes energized following a restart delay. When an error is detected, the relay is de-energized after a time delay. Under an automatic reset, it restarts once the problem is fixed. This unit differs from the PMPU in that it has fixed response times & settings
