Understanding the Comparison

An active Lumberg Automation M12 distribution block processes and exchanges field I/O data through an industrial communication protocol. A passive block acts as a centralized wiring point, routing connected sensor and actuator signals through an M23 interface or fixed control cable.

Before ordering: Confirm the controller protocol, signal direction, port count, connector coding, and power interface. IP ratings apply only when the block is installed with correctly rated mating connectors and unused ports are properly sealed.
