The Macromatic ARP240A6R is an alternating relay. This 8 Pin plug-in relay has a control voltage of 240V and an output of 10A SPDT. It is duplexor relay used in applications where the run time of two loads needs to be equalized. A control switch starts the alternating action. The output contacts on the relay change state when the initiating switch opens, so the loads alternate. It uses an 8 pin 70169-D octal socket.

The ARP240A6R features 2 LED indicators that display which load energizes next. The unit also has a low profile selector switch to lock into one load, so only one load remains energized. This is beneficial if one load has been used more than the other, so the on-time can be balanced
