Description

Macromatic ATP120A1R 120V AC Alternating Relay: Selectable duplexor or triplexor, 8-pin

ATP Series plug-in alternating relay for balancing runtime across as many as three pumps, compressors, or motors. Features three LEAD/LAG/LAG2 switch inputs, three 3A SPNO outputs, LED status indication, and staggered restart protection.

Why Choose the Macromatic ATP120A1R Alternating Relay?

The Macromatic ATP120A1R alternating relay helps equalize operating hours across multiple loads instead of allowing one pump, compressor, or motor to accumulate most of the runtime. Its LEAD, LAG, and LAG2 inputs stage up to three loads as demand increases, making it useful in lift stations, pump panels, compressor systems, and other duty-sharing controls.

This 8-pin plug-in model operates on 120V AC and provides three normally open 3A outputs. A selector switch chooses duplex or triplex operation and can lock a selected load into first-on priority. Three front LEDs identify which load is scheduled to energize first and blink together when the relay detects an switch failure.

⚠️ Confirm Operating Mode, Pin Count, and Socket

Operating mode: Selectable duplexor or triplexor. A selector switch chooses duplex or triplex operation and can lock a selected load into first-on priority.

Required socket style: This 8-pin relay uses a 70169-D octal socket. Confirm the panel socket and wiring arrangement before ordering.

📋 Alternating and Restart Operation

Alternating sequence: Each completed cycle changes the load assigned to lead duty, distributing runtime across the connected equipment.

Capacity staging: LAG and LAG2 inputs bring additional loads online when system demand exceeds the lead load's capacity.

Power restoration: If more than the LEAD input is closed when power returns, the relay inserts a 10-second interval between load starts to reduce simultaneous inrush.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Balances equipment usage: Rotating lead duty helps distribute wear and maintenance hours across connected loads
  • Stages additional capacity: LAG and LAG2 inputs add the second and third loads only when demand requires them
  • Shows operating priority: Three LEDs provide an immediate view of which load is scheduled to energize first
  • Signals switch problems: Simultaneous LED flashing provides a clear indication of a sequencing or input-switch fault
  • Limits restart inrush: Ten-second staging after a power interruption prevents all three outputs from energizing at once
  • Supports long service life: Rated for 10,000,000 mechanical operations and 100,000 operations at full load
