The DuraChoice TW440 stainless steel 304 thermowell has a 4" stem length with 1/2" NPT female thread and 1/2" NPT male thread. Thermowells are designed to protect thermometers and similar equipment from corrosive substances. The thermometer stem sits inside the thermowell, which conveys the level of heat from the object. Thermowells let the thermometer be removed if needed, without risking damage to the tested object.
