Sealcon Hygienic Cable Glands for Food ProcessingMarch 24 2017Major Electronix is now offering the full line of liquid tight hygienic cable glands from Sealcon. Featuring the FP & RG series, these strain relief fittings are both made from 316L stainless steel and are available in metric sizes. They feature smooth services that do not allow water or other substances to collect, preventing bacteria from growing. This makes them ideal for use in food & beverage processing, as well as bottling plants, agriculture, chemical, & pharmaceutical use. The 316L stainless steel used for these cable glands is a harder material than 303 stainless steel, and is halogen & phosphorous free. They have a wide operating temperature range of -40 F to 248 F (-40 C to 120 C). Both series are EHEDG Certified and meet FDA standards. They are EMI ready for braided cable, meaning these hygienic cord grips can stand up to electromagnetic interference. Examples of common uses include motors, conveyors, scales, handling equipment, and processing panels. The FP series has bell shaped housings and is available in M12, M16, M20, & M25 sizes. It is especially useful for foam cleaning & hose down applications. It has a silicone seal for IP 68 protection, with a cord grip inside the housing. The RG series has lower profile, dome shaped housings and is available in M12, M16, M20, M25, & M32 sizes. The RG series is perfect for high pressure cleaning & wash down applications, as it features IP 68 & IP 69K protection. Both the IP 68 & 69K ratings indicate total protection from dust and temporary submersion in water. They are UL & UR approved and have also passed the VDMA Riboflavin test. When ordering, keep in mind that these are special order items that may have a longer lead time. |
