🔧 FlexWatt + FlexColor: How One Kit Replaces a Dozen

Every RemPhos LED retrofit kit ships with 4 wattage options and 3 color temperature options built into the same board for up to 12 combinations from a single kit. That means one SKU on the shelf instead of a dozen.

  • Color temperature is set with a selector switch. No tools needed.
  • Wattage is set with a screwdriver-operated turn dial on the driver.
  • Kits arrive at a factory default (usually 4000K), so if you don't touch anything, they still work out of the box.

🔘 9" Round Drum Kits

For surface-mount ceiling drum fixtures. Default 10W. Expandable board fits larger housings. Chassis cut-outs support multiple wiring configurations.

🧱 Wall Sconce Kits

Rectangular, expandable board. Default 6W. Fits standard sconce and vanity housings without swapping the whole fixture.

📏 Linear Kits

Driver mounted center or end-of-board, depending on model. Default 6W. Built for narrow linear wall-mount housings.

🌗 Half-Moon Wall Kits

Half-circle profile for half-moon wall fixtures. Default 6W. Same magnet-and-screw mounting as the rest of the line.

All four styles are available with an optional motion/daylight sensor that still triggers correctly behind glass or plastic lenses.

🛠️ Installation: 5 Steps

  1. Confirm fixture compatibility. Dry or damp locations only. Check your fixture's UL listing before you order.
  2. Set your specs first. Flip the color temperature switch and turn the wattage dial to your target output before wiring in.
  3. Mount the board. Built-in rare-earth magnets hold it in place hands-free; self-tapping screw holes and threaded-rod cut-outs in the driver back that up for heavier boards.
  4. Wire in. Drum kits have extra chassis cut-outs to route wiring around obstructions in the existing housing.
  5. Test before closing up. Kits are removable, so if a setting is wrong, adjust it until the desired illumination is reached.

🚨 Troubleshooting & Emergency Fixes

Light won't turn on after install

Check the wattage dial isn't sitting between settings, and confirm the driver's polarity matches your existing fixture wiring. A partially-seated board can also break the circuit.

Color temperature switch has no effect

Power the fixture off for 10+ seconds before flipping the CCT selector. Most FlexColor boards only read the switch position on power-up, not while live.

Motion/daylight sensor not triggering

Tinted, frosted, or thick lenses can block the sensor even though it's rated to work behind glass/plastic. Try the fixture with the lens off. If it works, you may need a clear or thinner lens.

Board won't fit the existing housing

Only the 9" round drum kit and the rectangular sconce kit have expandable boards. If you're retrofitting an oversized or nonstandard housing with any other style, measure first. Don't force it, since a bent board voids the warranty.

Installed outdoors or in a wet area and now failing

These kits are dry/damp-rated, not wet-location rated. If moisture intrusion caused the failure, it's outside the warranty. Switch to a fully sealed/wet-rated fixture instead of another retrofit kit.
