The Red Lion ZFG0001C single ended shaft length sensor has a rate of 1 PPR (pulses per revolution), or, an output pulse rate of 1 pulse per foot. It has a cast aluminum housing with a stainless steel handle tube and 10 feet of 3 wire shielded cable. It can be used with the Red Lion length sensor hinge clamp assembly or a measuring wheel for precise length measurement.

This length sensor should be installed so the measuring wheel contact ribbon, strip or web as it passes over a roller. The weight of the sensor offers traction, with the arm angle not going over 30 degrees from the horizontal. Wheels can lift due to tension on the signal cable. The cable should be clamped to a machine frame with enough room to be slack.
