Macromatic Time Delay RelaysThe range of time delay relays from Macromatic cover a wide range of options and functions. Time delay relays use a time interval that can be preset to control certain functions. They are available as plug-ins, 1/16 DIN or encapsulated versions. The different functions featured by the relay determine how the timing range will affect operations.Time delay relays are useful in a number of different areas. Applications such as food processing, pumps, dispensing and packaging equipment, and lighting systems are but a few examples.

The line of relays includes both single and multi-function units, featuring different input voltages. Some examples of single function units include On Delay, Off Delay, Single Shot and Watchdog. The On Delay function means that the time delay will start once input voltage is applied, energizing the output once the time delay stops. On an Off Delay unit, once the input voltage is introduced along with a trigger, the output is energized. Time delay starts once the trigger is taken out and the output stays energized until the end of the time delay. With a Single Shot, the time delay starts with the energizing of the output, which occurs with the introduction of input voltage and a trigger. A Watchdog function indicates that the time delay will start when the output is energized. It uses a trigger to determine whether it stays energized or de-energizes at the end of the time delay. Certain models of multi-function units can have up to 16 different functions. Many of them feature an LED to indicate the status of the relay. For additional information, our time delay relay chart further explains all the various timing functions.
