The Macromatic ARP240A5R is an alternating relay. This 8 Pin plug-in relay has a control voltage of 240V AC. It is a 10A DPDT cross wired duplexor relay used in applications in which the run time of two loads has to be equalized and when more load capacity is necessary. A control switch starts the alternating action. The output contacts on the relay change state when the initiating switch opens, so the loads alternate. It uses an 8 pin 70169-D octal socket.

The ARP240A5R features 2 LED indicators that show which load energizes first. The unit also has a low profile selector switch to lock into one load, so the same load runs first. This helps to even out load usage if one was running more often than the other.
