Example: “5 pole male right angle, 4 meter black PUR cable with a stainless steel coupling nut.” Apply the description, then review the selections below.
Code follows the MDC prefix.
Code: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 12.
The configuration code follows the pole count.
4. Wire gauge option
Blank uses the standard 22 AWG for the selected cable.
Standard: 1M, 2M, 4M, 5M, 6M, 10M and 15M.
Use R for configurations other than MFRP or MRFP.
The default color may depend on cable type.
Armor code is placed before the coupling nut code.
SS is the final suffix when selected.
Build status: Choose the cable type, pole count, configuration and length.
Connector gender, angle pairing and shield-to-nut arrangement
Wire gauge
Blank, X
Append X to the configuration for 18 AWG
Length
1M, 2M, 4M, 5M, 6M, 10M, 15M
Standard cable lengths in meters
Angle
Blank, R
Straight or right angle; MFRP and MRFP already define mixed angles
Color
Blank, B, GY
Yellow, black or gray
Armor
Blank, A01, A02, A02T, A03, A04, A50, A51
No armor, stainless steel, PVC-covered stainless steel or silicone options
Coupling nut
Blank, SS
Nickel-plated brass or stainless steel

MDC connector family
MDC means Micro DC. These are M12 A-coded cables.
PVC cable
Polyvinyl chloride is the industry-standard cable material and is rated from -40°C to 105°C.
PUR cable
Polyurethane resists oil and abrasion and is rated from -40°C to 80°C.
TPE cable
Thermoplastic elastomer resists weld slag and is rated from -40°C to 90°C.
Foil shield
A layer of aluminum between the wires and insulation provides 100% coverage.
Braided shield
A braided network of thin wires provides greater durability.
Stainless steel armor
A01 is crush resistant and stands up to corrosion and abrasion. A02 uses discrete wires, while A02T adds discrete Teflon wires for high-temperature applications.
Covered armor and silicone
A03 and A04 use liquid-tight, abrasion-resistant PVC-covered stainless steel. A50 and A51 use silicone for chemical, weld-slag and high-temperature resistance.
