ILME Rectangular Inserts

July 26, 2013

ILME Rectangular InsertsThe wide range of rectangular inserts from ILME are available in enough sizes and pin counts to meet the needs of many different types of applications. They are made of thermoplastic resin that is self extinguishing, and having a standard operating temperature of up to 257 F (125 C). There are four different types of termination, including screw, spring, crimp pin or spring with actuator. Spring or screw contacts are often constructed from silver plated brass. Crimp pins for these inserts are made from silver or gold plated copper alloy, and are sold separately. The inserts are made easier to use by the convenience of being numbered on both sides. Standard inserts plus the corresponding N or Z inserts are made to provide a complete polarity to the ILME double size rectangular enclosures. These inserts carry varied approvals from UL, CSA, CCC, GL and GOST.

Choosing an insert is determined not only by size, but by several other factors as well. Different types will carry different voltage and current ratings. Each series of insert is made to be used with the corresponding type of enclosure or housing. The compatible housings and hoods are listed on the page for each insert.

The ILME rectangular inserts are most ideally suited for control units & equipment, electric panels & machinery and connections involved with power & signaling circuits. Major Electronix handles the complete line of ILME connectors.
