GardTec Green Fan CordsThe line of GardTec thermostat-controlled AC fan power cords are the only fan cords of their type in the industry. Referred to simply as the Green Fan Cord, the in-line thermostat will turn the fan on or off when the surrounding temperature requires additional cooling for the system. In keeping electronic components at a safe temperature, it will help save on energy costs, maximize the product life of the electronics, and decrease the amount of fan noise.

Operation is straightforward. When the thermostat senses that the ambient temperature has reached 88 F, the AC fan will turn on. The fan will shut off once the thermostat senses that the surrounding temperature has dropped to 80 F. With a thermostat-controlled fan cord, the fan will only run when it needs to. System usage is what mainly causes the internal temperatures of electronics to rise, with the maximum recommended temperature being 85-88 F. After this, the lifespan of the circuits can decrease by 45% for each 10-12 degree increase in temperature.

GardTec green fan cords are made to be a logical upgrade to existing fan power cords, without needing different wiring or circuit boards. It is possible to have more than one fan, up to 10, daisy chained together and controlled by the thermostat. Just like with the standard fan cords, the green fan cords can have 45 degree, 90 degree, straight, or T-shape connectors. Most are double ended with a NEMA 1-15P plug, although single ended cords are available. They come in different lengths from 24 to 72 inches, depending on the type. GardTec cooling fan kits are also available with a green fan cord, which also include a cooling fan and fan guard. GardTec green fan cords, like their standard fan cords, are made in the USA.
