Multiple Cable Entries in One PG 9 Fitting
The four-hole insert supports a four-line entry arrangement within one PG 9 fitting. Its black nylon body is suited to compact control panels and equipment housings that need organized entry for several small cables or wires.
Construction and Dimensions
The black nylon 6/6 body measures .87" (22 mm) in length, with a .31" (8 mm) mounting thread. The through-hole diameter is .60" (15.2 mm), and the dome and body wrench flats each measure .75" (19 mm). An elastomer seal surrounds the individual cable entries.
Features and Benefits
- Nylon 6/6 housing with an elastomer seal.
- 4 individual holes accommodate separate cables or wires in one mounting location.
- Vibration-resistant dome helps maintain cable retention.
- Resistance to salt water, acids, alkalis, gasoline, and oils.
- Rugged construction for industrial cable-entry applications.
- Halogen- and phosphorus-free construction.
Applications
Recommended uses include multiple small cable or wire entries in control panels, industrial junction boxes, machine enclosures, and equipment housings. The 4-hole configuration helps organize individual lines at one mounting location. Match every cable or wire diameter to its .07" (1.7 mm) opening and the required enclosure protection.
Installation and Selection Notes
- Match the mounting connection to PG 9 and confirm the .60" (15.2 mm) through-hole dimension.
- Check available thread engagement against the .31" (8 mm) thread length and provide tool access for the .75" (19 mm) wrench flats.
- Confirm that the 4-hole insert and .07" (1.7 mm) hole diameter suit the cable-entry layout.
- For IP65 and NEMA 4X sealing, each cable diameter must be at least 80% of the hole diameter. The difference between the hole diameter and cable diameter must also be no more than 0.04 inches (1 mm).
- IP68 and NEMA 6 submersible protection may be achievable with an ideal cable-to-hole fit. Confirm the assembled fit and test the application before relying on that higher protection level.
- Locking nut and O-ring sold separately.
Sealing and Environmental Protection
Multi-hole sealing depends on the fit of each cable within its insert opening. Use the IP65 and NEMA 4X rating for selection, and treat IP68 and NEMA 6 as conditional on an ideal fit and application verification. The self-locking ACME dome thread distributes compression through the overlapping splines to help retain the seal and provide cable pull-out protection.
