Sealcon M23 Right Angle Panel Mount Signal Connector, 16 Pole, IP67 / IP69K
The Sealcon M23 right angle panel mount signal connector provides a modular 16-pole connection for industrial signal wiring. The housing has male threads and accepts either a male pin insert or a female socket insert. Fixed and rotating housing options allow the connector configuration to match the panel layout, while separately selected inserts and optional crimp contacts accommodate the required termination method.
The connector combines a die-cast zinc body, a nickel-plated brass surface, and gold-plated brass alloy contacts. It is rated IP67 / IP69K and NEMA 4X, with an operating temperature range of −40°C to +125°C (−40°F to +257°F).

Modular Housing and Insert Selection
The same housing type can accept male or female inserts, giving equipment builders flexibility when configuring panel connections. Housing thread gender and insert contact gender are separate selections: a housing with male threads can contain either pin or socket contacts. Choose the housing first, then select the 16-pole insert and the appropriate contacts for the wiring requirements.
Fixed housings provide a stationary mounting arrangement. Rotating housings offer 300° or 335° of rotation and use a locking screw at the flange. Select the housing version to suit the intended connector orientation and available panel space.
Features and Benefits
- Tool-free crimp contact installation and removal: Contacts can be installed or removed without tools, reducing the chance of insert or contact damage during repeated assembly work.
- Euro Lock contact retention: The locking system inside the insert holds the contacts in position.
- Machined crimp contacts: Optional pin and socket contacts support the conductor ranges shown in the contact selection table.
- PCB termination option: Inserts with solder contacts support dip soldering to printed circuit boards.
- Spring Loaded Sockets (SLS): Integrated springs increase connection reliability and support in high-vibration applications, with capability up to 50 g of shock and 10 g of continuous force.
- Color-coded spacers: Male and female inserts use color-coded spacers to aid identification.
- Approvals and compliance: UL and CSA approvals; RoHS and Deca BDE compliant.
Applications
Use this M23 panel connector for multi-circuit signal connections in industrial machinery, automation equipment, and control assemblies. The right angle housing suits panel layouts that require an angled connector arrangement. Dip solder inserts support PCB connections, while crimp inserts allow contact selection by conductor size. For equipment exposed to vibration, consider the Spring Loaded Socket (solder) configuration.
How to Order
- Select a housing. Panel connector housings are available in five types, including fixed and rotating versions. Fixed housings use M2.5 screws for fixation. The 300° rotating housings use a 1.5 mm locking screw at the flange; the rotating flange type has four 0.11 in. (2.7 mm) holes.
- Select a 16-pole insert. Choose a male pin insert or a female socket insert. Inserts are available with dip solder contacts or without contacts for crimp termination.
- Select optional crimp contacts. For an insert without contacts, choose the appropriate 1 mm pin or socket crimp contacts and conductor range. Crimp contacts are sold in groups of 16. Separate contacts are not required for inserts with solder contacts; select the No Contacts Required option for those inserts.
Crimp Contact Selection
Match the selected crimp contact to the insert contact type and conductor size. The following contact options have different crimp ranges.
| 7.010.901.031 | 0.08–0.56 mm² 28–20 AWG |
| 7.010.901.001 | 0.14–1.0 mm² 26–17 AWG |
| 7.010.901.012 | 0.08–0.56 mm² 28–20 AWG |
| 7.010.901.002 | 0.34–1.0 mm² 22–17 AWG |
| 7.010.901.021 | 1.0–1.5 mm² 17–16 AWG |
| 7.010.901.022 | 0.75–1.5 mm² 18–16 AWG |
Assembly and Selection Notes
- Confirm the housing type, panel mounting arrangement, and required insert contact gender before ordering.
- Choose dip solder contacts for PCB termination or an insert without contacts for crimp assembly.
- Use the crimp range associated with the selected contact part number.
- Match the application to the insert current rating, applicable nominal voltage, and operating temperature range. The 1,500 V test voltage is a breakdown test value.
