Inlet Construction and Contact Design
The blue fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastic polyester housing resists impact, chemical exposure, and ultraviolet radiation. Silver-nickel contacts combine conductivity with durability for repeated connection and disconnection. The alloy contains 85% silver and 15% nickel and limits the effect of oxidation on contact resistance.
Key Features
- Silver-nickel contacts provide a durable, conductive connection for repeated mating cycles.
- The contact alloy contains 85% silver and 15% nickel.
- The fiberglass-reinforced housing resists impact, chemical exposure, and ultraviolet radiation.
- Screw terminals accommodate the specified 10–2 AWG conductor range.
- Type 4X and IP66 / IP67 environmental ratings support selection for the installation environment.
Applications
Use this male inlet with a compatible DS60 female receptacle for heavy-duty industrial equipment power connections. Select the mating receptacle for the 277/480V AC, 60A rating and 3 poles plus neutral and ground arrangement. The horsepower rating is 25 hp. The inlet forms the male side of the matched connection.
Compatibility and Installation Notes
Use the corresponding DS60 female receptacle with matching voltage, current, and contact configuration. Check the conductor size, terminal connections, component dimensions, and installation arrangement before assembly. Follow the Meltric DS Series User Manual for wiring, assembly, mating, and operation.
Ratings and Environmental Protection
The operating temperature range is -40°F to 140°F (-40°C to 60°C), with an IK09 impact rating. Environmental ratings are Type 4X and IP66 / IP67. The 100 kA short-circuit rating is a close-and-withstand rating. The component carries UL and CSA listings.
