Quick Answer

What Is a BreezEV Level 2 EV Charger?

A BreezEV Level 2 electric vehicle charger supplies adjustable high-output charging from a 200–240V single-phase electrical source. BreezEV models use an SAE J1772 charging connector. They provide up to 48 amps of output and are available for standalone or network-managed charging installations. Tesla and other electric vehicles that use another type of connector require the appropriate vehicle-compatible adapter. Tesla vehicles typically come with the adapter.

Ordering Checklist

How to Order a BreezEV Charging Station

Complete these decisions before ordering so the charger, cable and mounting method match the needs of the site.

STEP 1

Verify Available Electrical Capacity

Have a certified electrician confirm available voltage, circuit capacity, grounding, and applicable electrical-code requirements.

STEP 2

Select Cable Reach

Use the 18-foot cable for smaller layouts. Choose 25 feet when vehicles may park farther from the charger or use different charging-port locations.

STEP 3

Choose the P48 Plan Term (if applicable)

Networked P48 models are offered with a one-year or five-year AmpUp PRO plan. The S48 is not software compatible.

STEP 4

Confirm the Mounting Method

Wall mounting uses the included charger hardware. Components such as pedestals, cable-management hardware, or dual mount brackets used for pedestal mounting are sold separately (request a quote for pedestal installation)

STEP 5

Choose Standalone or Networked

Choose the S48 for simple private charging. Choose the P48 when you need limited access, analytics, or payment management.

STEP 6

Install, Configure, and Test

Have the charger professionally installed according to the included instructions. Verify charger output on S48 and P48 models. Complete AmpUp software activation for P48 models and confirm communication before opening the station to drivers.

⚠️ Installation and Circuit-Sizing Notice

Level 2 EV charging equipment should be installed by a qualified electrical professional. The maximum charger rating does not automatically determine the correct output setting for every installation. Circuit capacity, continuous-load requirements, wiring method and local codes must be reviewed before energizing the charger.

INSTALLER ACCESSORY

Commission the Charger Without an EV Present

The BreezEV EVC-L2-ACC-TESTER-J1772 helps installers verify charge requests and displays the charge rate, ground-fault response, output voltage, and charger signals after installation or service.

Need Pedestal Options or a Multi-Charger Quote?

Provide the number of stations, preferred cable length, mounting method, available voltage, and whether the site needs public payments or restricted access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do BreezEV chargers work with every electric vehicle?

Yes, BreezEV chargers are compatible with every EV that uses the SAE J1772 connector. Tesla vehicles using another connector require an appropriate compatible adapter, which is typically included with the vehicle.

No. The S48 is a standalone charger and cannot be upgraded by purchasing software separately. Choose a P48 configuration when network management is required.

Should I choose an 18-foot or 25-foot charging cable?

Choose 18 feet when the charger can be mounted close to a consistent parking position. Choose 25 feet when drivers may back in, pull forward or use vehicles with charging ports in different locations.

Can BreezEV chargers be installed outdoors?

Yes. The current BreezEV charger models are designed for indoor or outdoor use and carry IP65 ingress protection and IK08 impact-resistance ratings.

Can two BreezEV chargers share one pedestal?
