What Are ILME Multipole Connectors?

ILME multipole connectors are modular rectangular industrial connectors used to connect power, control, and signal wiring in machines, electrical panels, automation systems, robotics, material handling equipment, and harsh industrial environments. A complete connector assembly typically includes a male insert, female insert, hood and base. Additional options include crimp contacts, covers, and strain relief fittings.

Glands, gaskets, covers

🔌 Choose the Right Insert

ILME rectangular connector insert

Start with the insert. It determines the electrical layout, wire termination, pin count, voltage rating, and current rating.

  • UL 94 V-0 flame-resistant plastic body
  • Temperature ratings of 125°C or 180°C
  • Screw, crimp pin, or spring connection options
  • Silver or gold-plated brass contacts
  • 3 to 108 pin configurations
  • 5A to 200A current ratings
  • 50V to 5000V voltage ratings

🛡️ Match the Hood + Base

ILME hoods and bases

Select the housing style based on mounting location, cable entry, sealing needs, and environment.

  • Bulkhead bases mount directly to panels
  • Surface bases mount to machine frames or enclosures
  • Hoods protect the insert and direct the cable exit
  • Made from epoxy coated die-cast aluminum or self-extinguishing thermoplastic
  • Lever and peg systems help prevent accidental opening
  • Gaskets help block dust, dirt, and particles
  • Available in sizes from 21.21 to 104.62

Common ILME Hood & Base Types

C-Type

Standard die-cast aluminum hoods and bases for general industrial connector assemblies. Available in the full range of sizes.

830V

Use when the insert requires 830V compatibility. Made from die-cast aluminum with supplementary insulation strips inside.

T-Type

Thermoplastic insulating housings with built-in polyurethane gaskets.

W-Type

Black powder-coated aluminum housings for aggressive environments with salt or chemical exposure.

EMC

Conductive treated aluminum housings for shielded connections and electromagnetic compatibility.

180°C High Temperature

Red thermoset powder-coated aluminum housings for higher-temperature connector applications.

Central Lever

Middle-lever aluminum housings that reduce installation space around the connector.

IP68

Dust-tight and water-protected housings for wet, dirty, or washdown-prone environments. Electromagnetic compatible, corrosion & impact resistant

✅ ILME Connector Selection Checklist

1. Match the insert size

The insert, hood, and base must use the same ILME size.

2. Confirm electrical ratings

Check pin count, amperage, voltage, and termination style before ordering.

3. Choose mounting style

Use bulkhead bases for panels and surface bases for machine-mounted wiring.

4. Select the environment rating

Use W-Type, EMC, high-temp, or IP68 housings when the application demands it.

5. Check cable entry

Match top, side, or front entry to the cable path and enclosure clearance.

6. Add accessories

Order contacts, covers, or strain relief fittings when required.

⚠️ Common Ordering Mistakes to Avoid

  • Mixing sizes: A 57.27 insert must be paired with compatible 57.27 hood/base components.
  • Forgetting contacts: Crimp-style inserts require separate male/female contacts.
  • Wrong cable exit: Check whether the machine layout needs top, side, or front cable entry.
  • Underrating the housing: Use EMC, IP68, W-Type, or high-temperature versions when the environment requires extra protection.
