The Seifert SF 3991 change-over hygrostat is made to control the relative humidity inside an enclosure. Working in conjunction with a heater, it reduces condensation build-up to prevent damage to the electronic equipment inside the cabinet. Setting range between 50 F-90% RH. Rated IP 20. It can be DIN rail mounted and has a screw terminal connection.

A hygrostat is a form of enclosure climate control. Much like a thermostat will manage the operation of a heater or air conditioner when a set temperature is reached, a hygrostat will trigger the heater to power on or off to sustain the proper humidity. Condensation can collect in an enclosure when there is too much water vapor in the air. This can lead to problems down the line, such as corrosion due to the excess moisture.
