HSTB1 shrink tubing is used primarily to keep wires & cables protected by acting as insulation. Keeping dirt and debris off of splices and inline components is another advantage to using heat shrink. This tubing can be implemented as a light duty temporary harness for wire or cable when cable ties are unnecessary. It is also useful in color coding wire or cable for quick identification.
Once heat is introduced to the tubing, it shrinks down to about half of its original diameter. This encases the wire or connection with an effective safeguard against foreign contaminants. After heating, it has a nominal recovered wall thickness of 0.035". You can also cut it to nearly whatever length you need, since it comes in quantities of 100ft.
