HSTBD1/2 shrink tubing protects wires by acting as insulation, while also preventing contact with dirt or moisture. The dual wall construction, lined with adhesive, forms a tight seal against weather or other conditions. It provides greater strength for electrical and power distribution, along with connector to cable transitions. Applications that need an especially snug fit receive the biggest advantage from its use.
When heat is introduced to the tubing, it shrinks down to about one third of its original diameter. The adhesive on the inside melts and flows, encasing the wire or connection with an effective safeguard against the surrounding environment. After heating, it has a total nominal recovered wall thickness of 0.067", with the adhesive wall thickness being 0.02". It comes in 100ft quantities, so the heat shrink can be cut to nearly any length you need.
