Major Electronix now offers 25 pin D-sub cables from Mencom. These cables are double ended with male and female plugs, and are intended for use with the Mencom Panel Interface Connectors. These D-subminiature cables come in 2, 3, 6, 10, or 12 meter lengths with heavier gauge wire. The last four wires are 20 AWG while the rest are 24 AWG. The double ended design makes the DB25 cables ideal for applications that only need a single ended cable. The end that is not needed can be cut off while the wires can be terminated into standard terminal blocks. The DB25 cables also feature guaranteed color codes. The term DB actually refers to the 25 pin size of the surrounding shell. The cable is completely shielded with a mylar foil shield and the wiring is straight through. A metal shell is connected to the shield and the 20 AWG drain, and the cables feature thumb screws made from nickel plated brass.

A wide variety of Mencom Panel Interface Connectors (PICs) are also available through Major Electronix, which feature a number of different configurations. PICs are mounted to the outside of the control panel and allow access to the PLC or PAC without having to open the control cabinet. This adds greater safety and makes it easier to work with the control panel. Other lengths of DB25 cables may also be available.
