HSTBD3/16 protects wires by acting as insulation, while also keeping dirt or moisture away. The dual wall construction, lined with adhesive, provides a tight seal against outside environmental conditions. It supplies greater strength in electrical and power distribution, as well as connector to cable transitions.
When heat is introduced to the tubing, it shrinks down to about one third of its original diameter. The inside adhesive lining then melts and flows, encasing the wire or connection with an effective safeguard against foreign particles. After heating, it has a total nominal recovered wall thickness of 0.043", with the adhesive wall thickness being 0.016". The tubing can be cut to nearly any length that is needed, as it is available in 250ft lengths.
