N-View OPC Server and Diagnostic Software Installation & User Guide
Advanced Management Functions - The 524TX offers several management functions that can beeasily configured using the COM Port (DB 9 Connector locatedon the right side of the switch).
IGMP Snooping - Internet Group Management Protocol is afeature that allows the 524TX switch to forward and filtermulticast traffic intelligently.
VLAN - Virtual Local Area Network allows you to segment theswitch in order to create two or more separate local area networkdomains.
QoS - Quality of Service provides prioritization of networktraffic in order to provide better network service. The primarygoal of QoS is to improve the latency of prioritized Ethernetpackets required for ring management, real-time and otherinteractive applications.
Trunking - Trunking (aggregation) enables multiple physical portsto be linked together and function as one uplink to another 524TX switch configured in the same manner, thereby increasing thebandwidth between switches. This configuration can provideincreased bandwidth and redundancy to applications requiring highlevels of fault tolerant operation.
Port Mirroring - This 524TX function allows the traffic on oneport to be duplicated and sent to a designated mirror port. Portmirroring can be used to monitor Ethernet traffic on thedesignated source port using the assigned mirror port.
N-View OPC Switch Monitoring Option -The N-TRON N-View OLE for Process Control (OPC) ServerSoftware can be combined with popular HMI softwarepackages to add network traffic monitoring, trending andalarming to any application using N-TRON switchesconfigured with the N-View option. N-TRON's N-View OPCServer collects 41 different traffic variables per port and 5system level variables per switch. This information canprovide a complete overview of the network load, servicequality, and packet traffic. OPC client software can use N-ViewOPC Server data to resolve network problems quickly andimprove system reliability.
Industrial Packaging and SpecificationsThe N-TRON 524TX is designed to operate in industrialenvironments. It is housed in a rugged steel enclosure that canbe DIN-RAIL or Panel Mounted, and an optional rackmountkits is also available. The 524TX also comes standard withextended temperature rating, extended shock and vibrationspecs, redundant power inputs, and a high MTBF (greater than 1M hours).
Ease of UseThe N-TRON 524TX requires no setup unless the advancedport functions are utilized. The twenty-four 10/100BaseTX ports areauto sensing and auto configuring. Each copper port isautomatically negotiated for maximum speed and performanceby default. The two fiber optic ports support full 200Mb/scommunications via 100BaseFX. Bi-color LED's are providedto display the link status, link speed and activity of each portas well as power on/off status.
PerformanceThe N-TRON 524TX uses "state of the art" IEEE 802.3 FastEthernet 10/100BaseTX switching technology. This eliminatesnetwork collisions and increases network determinism. 12,000MAC addresses are supported enabling sophisticated andcomplex network architectures. A high speed processor andbackplane allows wire speed capability on all portssimultaneously.
